In a recent interview on Maria Menounos’ online network, AfterBuzz TV, actress Jamie Chung, who stars in the upcoming Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, sat down with host Keetin Marchi and admits that getting into her mute character, Miho, was hard. “She emotes nothing, and she is stone cold even when she is, you know, in action, in motion. And so that was probably one of the hardest things.”
Her time filming the Frank Miller / Robert Rodriquez film was also quick and didn’t allow for any prep time. She was filming ABC's Once Upon a Time in Vancouver when she got the call to be on set the next morning. “I took a flight, slept on the plane. I got off. I got into my gym clothes, we did stunt training for 2 hours on wires and with weapons and then we filmed it after I went through the works.” Jamie credits her training experience with the film Sucker Punch for her ability to jump right into the action of Sin City.
Jamie, who also plays Mulan on Once Upon A Time said, “I watched Mulan when I was younger and I loved it, and it was kind of a dream come true to play this character.” Jamie also says she felt excitement at the unique direction of her character’s story line. “It really shocked me. I can’t believe they went for it, and I am so proud that they did.”
On top of being an actress Jamie is a fashion and lifestyle blogger. She will be at New York’s Fashion week this September covering the latest trends for her blog whatthechung.com.
Jamie is in the process of planning her wedding to fiancé Brian Greenberg and is hoping to have it take place next year. She joked that she is, “so tempted to just get eloped…”
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For hits theatres Friday, August 22nd. You can follow Jamie’s blog on WhatTheChung.com.
