"Leading Edge" Features an Upcoming Segment on Youth Literacy, Hosted by Jimmy Johnson
(PRWEB) August 23, 2014 -- Youth literacy is a top concern around the United States as it determines how well children are able to read. Statistics have shown that millions of children reach the 12th grade without being able to read at a basic level.
Leading Edge, hosted by former NFL Coach Jimmy Johnson, brings up the topic of youth literacy to shine a light on the problem. The problem is not only in the education systems but also in the neighborhoods where underprivileged children live. Many households do not have books or encourage reading, which is where many of the problems start.
The segment will interview various experts discussing the challenges of learning to read, the statistics that plague the country, and what the outlook is into the future as a way of addressing the problem. The segment will address crucial information everyone wants to know about.
Literacy is just one of the many topics that are discussed on Leading Edge. Other topics have included politics, entertainment, sports, technology, and more. The show is on throughout the year and can be watched online or on a local Public Television station as a way of presenting important topics to everyone.
The Leading Edge Series is distributed around the U.S. to Public Television channels and not distributed via PBS. For more information, the Leading Edge website is at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or producers can be sent an email at info(at)leadingedgeseries(dot)com.
