Greenberg Traurig’s Brian Koch Named ‘40 Under 40’ Rising Star by Daily Business Review
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) August 25, 2014 -- Brian H. Koch, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been named one of the Daily Business Review’s “40 Under 40” Rising Stars.
The Daily Business Review’s Rising Stars program recognizes 40 of South Florida’s most promising lawyers under the age of 40. Rising Stars are characterized by their strong leadership qualities, expertise in litigation or transactional work and commitment to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.
Promoted in 2013 to Shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s high-profile Litigation Practice Group, Koch has represented regional, national and international plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts for more than 11 years. Koch has a diverse commercial litigation practice that includes business, insurance and class action litigation. Koch has broad experience handling all aspects of litigation including motion practice, trial and appeals.

In June, Koch secured affirmance of a complete summary judgment in favor of Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund, [Case No.: 2D13-2641 - L.T. No.: 07-CA-014166], in the District Court of Appeal of Florida Second District, in a case where the plaintiff had sought more than $35 million. Earlier in July, he was honored as one of the South Florida Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” business leaders.This annual listing of South Florida’s best and brightest leaders under the age of 40 is based on both professional success and community involvement.
Koch was also awarded the Paul May Young Lawyers Section Professionalism Award at the Broward County Bar Association’s Annual Installation Dinner in June. The award is presented each year to an attorney in Broward County who demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism in the practice of law and enhances the image of the legal profession through their participation in the legal community.

Giving back is not just a catchphrase, but something Koch does on a daily basis as he has served on a number of boards and in various leadership positions for the Leadership Broward Foundation, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Broward Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Beth Torah Congregation and the University of Florida Hillel Foundation. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Ghost Light Society for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts where he engages the next generation of arts supporters in our community and is building support for the Center’s extensive arts-in-education programs.
Koch received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his B.A. cum laude from the University of Florida, where he served as Chancellor of the Student Honor Court and Managing Editor of the Florida Law Review.
