WordenGroup Public Relations Expands Ski Resort PR Niche with New Client Foresight Ski Guides
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (PRWEB) August 25, 2014 -- Jackson Hole PR firm WordenGroup Public Relations has recently added Foresight Ski Guides, a Colorado non-profit organization that matches volunteer guides with visually impaired and blind snow sport participants to its client list. WordenGroup, with offices in Jackson, Wyo., and Denver, Colo., specializes in public relations for travel, tourism, hospitality, art and architecture clients in a variety of mountain resort towns, including Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Vail, Colorado; and Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Lakes in California.
“With WordenGroup’s extensive tourism and travel PR work in top Western ski resort towns like Jackson Hole, Foresight’s skiing focus was a natural fit for us,” says Darla Worden, WordenGroup founder and principal. “And we’re passionate about helping our non-profit clients get their important messages to the public,” says Worden, whose non-profit clients also include the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole and the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival.
WordenGroup is working with Foresight Ski Guides founder Mark G. Davis, a lifelong skier who started Foresight in 2001 after losing his functional vision. Davis relearned skiing, discovering the challenge recreation of “skiing blind” as a transformative experience that lifted grief and depression, bringing renewed passion and confidence to his life. By forming Foresight, Davis has dedicated his life to offering others in similar situations the opportunity to have the same experience.
“The goal of Foresight is to provide visually impaired and blind participants an affordable and accessible opportunity to experience a great day on the slopes. We at WordenGroup support that goal wholeheartedly and want to help bring awareness and further the public’s involvement in this wonderful organization,” says Worden.
Through Foresight, visually impaired and blind participants receive a personalized itinerary and on-site greeter, specially trained, experienced ski guides, a lift ticket, top of the line equipment, ground transportation to the slopes and lodging assistance. The organization is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time paid program coordinator in Vail for the 2014/2015 ski season, also volunteer skiing and snowboarding guides in Eagle and Summit County for blind and visually impaired skiers and snowboarders. Foresight is also looking for volunteers in the areas of social media networking, fundraising, and nonprofit event planning and coordination.
