Trinity Habitat for Humanity Dedicates 10th Home Built by Inspirus
Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) August 26, 2014 -- Inspirus, a leading provider of workforce recognition solutions, and Trinity Habitat for Humanity—a chapter of the international non-profit organization that provides affordable housing to individuals who may not otherwise be able to own a home—dedicated the 10th house built with Inspirus volunteers on Saturday, August 2, 2014.
“Partnering with Habitat to build homes that give families a new start is always an honor,” says Pete Chambers, chairman and chief executive officer of Inspirus. “Building this house was especially meaningful because it was built for a young woman who means a lot to us at Inspirus—Jennifer Long and her two young sons.”
Jennifer, an account representative who joined Inspirus in 2009, says her new home in Weatherford, Texas is “a dream come true for my boys and me. Inspirus has been there every step of the way. They’re not just another company, they’re a family. And they’ll always be my family.”
Kay Huse, a build team member with the Weatherford Rotary kicked off the dedication. Weatherford Mayor Dennis Hooks officially welcomed Jennifer to the city, and Judy Flanagin presented her with a Texas flag that flew over the Texas Capitol on behalf of Texas State Representative Phil King. Ladies from the Quilter’s Guild of Parker County gave Jennifer and each of her boys handmade quilts, and the Grace First Presbyterian Church of Weatherford presented a prayer shawl. Mr. Chambers gave Jennifer the key to her new home and a Bible. Linda Tingle, the build team leader, offered a blessing.
The new home, the 14th Trinity Habitat home built in Parker County, will provide Jennifer and her boys—five-year-old David and four-month old Richard—with a new sense of security and stability. “I just want my boys to know that things don’t always have to be hard, they can have a happy life. With the help of Habitat and Inspirus, we’re able to enjoy our lives better than before.”
Little David has already told his mom where Batman will go in his new room. While Jennifer loves everything about her new home nestled in an established neighborhood with views of picturesque woods and a creek, she says, “My favorite part is the kitchen window. I’ve always wanted my own kitchen window. I may be doing dishes, but at least I can look out at something. It just gives me a sense of peace and serenity that everything’s going to be okay.”
Jennifer’s new house address just happens to be her birthday, a sign she believes affirms that she
and her boys are right where they should be. “God helps you out, but he also gives you your dreams,” she says.
