California Southern University Names New Dean
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) August 27, 2014 -- California Southern University has named Dr. Gregory D. Herbert dean of the university’s School of Business. Dr. Herbert comes to CalSouthern from Trident University International, where—over a 12-year career—he served as a professor, program director, student policy director, associate dean and dean of the university’s School of Business and Information Systems.
Dr. Herbert also had a long and successful career in the United States Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel after 22 years of service. While in the Air Force, Dr. Herbert served as a B-52 aircrew member, as director of operations for an air support operations squadron and as a staff officer at various headquarters. He also taught military strategy courses and helped re-design the distance-learning curriculum at Air University’s Air Command and Staff College, at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.
“I am thrilled to be joining CalSouthern as dean of the School of Business,” says Dr. Herbert. “CalSouthern’s leadership and I are of like mind when it comes to delivering the finest possible educational experience for our students, and everyone at the university supports one another in this regard. It’s a great place to work. In addition, the faculty members in the School of Business are fantastic, with outstanding credentials and a heartfelt enthusiasm for working with their students.”
“I look forward to growing the school, adding new degrees and concentrations that will benefit our learners. But we will do so within the framework of an exceptional learning environment. When students graduate, I want them to reflect upon their time at CalSouthern as an overwhelmingly positive experience that enriched their lives.”
