Columbia Ticketing Startup EveryEventGives Launches Seed Funding Round
COLUMBIA, MISSOURI (PRWEB) August 27, 2014 -- Sean Spence, CEO and co-founder of Columbia online ticketing startup EveryEventGives, announced today that the company is looking to raise up to $500,000 in its first round of fundraising, typically considered the “seed round.”
EveryEventGives provides an easy way for independent event planners and non-profit organizations to sell tickets online, and gives 50 cents of their fee to charity for every ticket sold. Integrating giving into every sale is the primary tenet of the company’s guiding philosophy, Conscience Driven Capitalism.
Spence said the company has met several early-stage benchmarks, and is ready to move from the “proof of concept” stage to focus on customer acquisition and market expansion:
• Successfully provided ticketing for 18 events
• Contributed to several non-profit organizations
• Attracted repeat customers, both event hosts and ticket purchasers
• Served events in four states, to people not connected with company personnel
“Now that we have proven our concept, raising up to $500,000 will primarily allow us to dramatically boost customer acquisition and innovate our technology,” Spence said.
Greg Wolff, co-founder and CFO, said the company has the potential to be a national force. “We are jumping into a $4 billion, growing market and I really do think we could be a national leader,” Wolff said. “Our commitment to Conscience Driven Capitalism, to making the world a better place, will help to set us apart.”
Mike Nichols, partner and COO, said EveryEventGives has assembled a winning team. “Good ideas attract the best, and we have capitalized on that,” he said. “We have been incredibly selective, as well as very lucky, and have recruited people for every key position who are the best at what they do.”
The company’s advisory board includes Richard King (The Blue Note, Mojo’s), Tim Rich (Heart of Missouri United Way), John Dupuy (Maker Redux, formerly of Socket Internet Services), Anne Hanks (Annabelle Events), and Brian Clark (GMD Studios in New York City).
We believe that EveryEventGives provides an easy way for independent event planners and non-profit organizations to sell more tickets for their events as they promote the principles of Conscience Driven Capitalism. More information is available at http://www.everyeventgives.com.
