Paris, France (PRWEB) August 27, 2014 -- It’s been almost one year since we signed our first client! One year of industrializing and democratizing revenue management for hotels. One year of enthusiasm, one year of talking with you and working together. One year of doing everything we could to help you improve your RevPAR and make your life easier. One year is an important milestone, so we wanted to let you know how PriceMatch is doing, one year in.
Our team recently welcomed our 400th hotel partner, the Amiral Hotel in Nantes. As with most of the hotels who use PriceMatch to manage their revenue, it is a French hotel. But over the past year, we have become a global company, working with hotels in 34 different countries, with partners from every continent that has hotels. The properties we work with range from 2 to 5 stars, the smallest having only 9 rooms, while the largest has 523.
Over the past year, through working with general managers and revenue managers, we better learnt how to build a modular revenue management system (RMS) and to segment our offer to suit the needs of our clients and future clients.
As you can imagine, growing quickly is not an easy task and we wanted to share with you how we have been responding to our biggest challenge: being glocal.
Being glocal is very important to us, because not only are hotels in different countries faced with different RMS needs, but even hotels in the same city may require slightly different solutions. Glocalization allows us to be both global and local at the same time. Here are some of the ways we have responded to this need, over the past year.
1- PMS Interfaces:
In order to work with a hotel, our econometric algorithms need to be fed its historical data. This data, however, is stored in the PMS, and there are literally hundreds of different PMSs in the world, each with their own unique way of capturing, processing and storing this information. Over the past year we have set up interfaces with almost 60 different PMS systems, with more being added every week. It was a difficult and consuming process, but today we are proud to say that the any fears you may have of a long and tedious implementation process are history.
2- Events:
Many companies attempt to take events into account by using interns or data entry companies to manually fill in Excel tables. Keeping with our strategy of glocalization, we determined that this process was ineffective and not scalable. After benchmarking numerous solutions, we finally decided to work with Eventful, a web based supplier of event information. This database contains information on the events in every geographical location, along with the importance and the expected (as well as real-time changes in the) attendance.
3- Account Management:
At PriceMatch, our award winning algorithm is only half of the solution. The other is our team of international, multi-lingual revenue managers. Hiring the right people to advise you was not an easy task, but based on the feedback we’ve received from hoteliers, we seem to have done it right. Our team of account managers speaks 8 languages ie French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Arabic. And our account managers are located in our different international offices to better react to our clients in different timezones.
4- Different languages:
Thanks to our multi-lingual staff, our platform has been translated into multiple languages, so that our clients around the world can use it to the full extent of its capabilities. We have full access to the platform in French, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German and Chinese, and the list keep getting longer as the Pricematch team is always on the move. New markets, new challenges, new opportunities; at Pricematch that’s how we like it!
5- Different currencies
Euros, pounds, or dollars. Yuan, baht or rand. At PriceMatch, it doesn’t matter what currency you use, since we work perfectly with all of them. Both our rate shopper and our algorithm can adapt to whatever currency you use, and we have a fully integrated exchange rate converter that uses real time rates, a useful feature for international chains that work with multiple currencies.
Its our first sale anniversary, and we’re just getting started. We’ve already begun a new round of hiring and we will be moving into a much larger office next month. We have numerous other improvements and features to add, and we may have some big news to share with you in the coming months. Thank you for your support during this first year!
