Konnectifi Solution Uses Cloudpath XpressConnect ES to Offer Complimentary, Secure Wi-Fi to Public at Friends Life Tour of Britain Cycle Race
Westminster, Colorado (PRWEB) August 28, 2014 -- Cloudpath Networks (http://www.cloudpath.net/), the industry leader for Automated Device Enablement (ADE), today announced that the Friends Life Tour of Britain, the UK’s largest cycle race, will use Konnectifi’s Social Wi-Fi solution, in tandem with automated, secure onboarding by Cloudpath XpressConnect ES, to provide complimentary Wi-Fi access to the public at the event.
The complimentary public access Wi-Fi will allow spectators to log on, connect, tweet and email during the event. Robin Price, Managing Director of Konnectifi’s parent company KBR, said: “People no longer just expect Wi-Fi, they expect it for free no matter where they are, and we’re giving venue owners such as outdoor event managers the means to provide that free Wi-Fi access.”
“Cloudpath is pleased to play an important role in providing complimentary, secure Wi-Fi to spectators, staff, media, participants and others at the Tour,” said Amith Nair, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Cloudpath Networks. “Using Cloudpath technology places this event in the forefront of the trend toward providing Wi-Fi and secure onboarding at no cost for a hugely diverse range of users and devices in an outdoor setting.”
XpressConnect ES from Cloudpath integrates BYOD management, Automated Onboarding, Guest Access Control, Network Access Control (NAC) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) into a single solution, enabling network administrators to cost-effectively implement network access and security policy over any wired or wireless network infrastructure.
With Cloudpath XpressConnect ES, users can simply and securely connect their own devices, such as Apple, Android and Windows tablets and phones, laptops, game machines, and printers to the network and gain enduring access to appropriate resources without support assistance. The solution is highly scalable, enabling large numbers of users to simultaneously onboard their devices, and offers social media authentication.
