Throughout America, farmers take pride in providing the crops responsible for feeding and clothing people in the United States and around the globe. These rural Americans take satisfaction in producing crops that are destined for renewable energy products so that our country is less dependent on foreign oil. This is why it is so important that the American Farmer series be able to educate and inform farmers on the people, paces, and issues impacting all areas of farm country; keeping them abreast of the latest technologies available to them.
Rural Media Group is the world's leading provider of multimedia content dedicated to the rural and western lifestyle, and is the parent company of RFD-TV, FamilyNet, RURAL TV, RFD-TV the Magazine and RFD-TV the Theatre. “RFD-TV is the nation's first 24-hour television network dedicated to serving the needs and interests of rural America,” said Charlie Cowan, Producer for American Farmer, which airs on RFD-TV. “There is no other network like it on television today. While American Farmer is dedicated to forward innovation and change, we also pride ourselves in our commitment to the rural and western lifestyle,” Charlie continued.
According to Rural Media Group’s Chairman, Patrick Gottsch, Comcast’s proposed purchase of Time Warner Cable threatens the future of his television stations, which broadcast rural-themed shows like American Farmer.
“There can’t be a wall built between urban and rural America,” Mr. Gottsch said recently. The team at DMG Productions, the driving force behind the American Farmer series, agrees with Mr. Gottsch. “We shouldn’t have to substitute one good thing for another,” said Sarah McBrayer, Creative Director for DMG Productions and the American Farmer series. “It is important that our show, as well as numerous others currently on television are able to continue educating the public on the amazing advancements taking place in rural America.”
