Hackathon Fever Strikes Softway Solutions, Resulting in a Call For Innovative Product Development
Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 01, 2014 -- Riding the trend wave of Hackathons, Softway Solutions chose to host this event as an opportunity for all employees to work together in a new way to create something they can really stand behind. Employees choose to work for Softway Solutions in order to gain exposure to a variety of markets and industries as well as other technical expertise offered by colleagues.
On a day-to-day basis, the employees are consumed with billable work given the challenge to make exactly what the client wants. The upcoming Hackathon challenge allows the teams to choose what they want to build and how they want to sell it. Also, the randomly selected teams will ensure that each employee gets exposed to the disciplines of their peers in order to have a better understanding of the specialties offered by Softway Solutions.
The challenge for the Hackathon is for each team to pitch the next big product or service that they believe can gain success for Softway Solutions. The teams will be constrained to come up with ideas based on the existing talent, skills and abilities found amongst the current staff. The most important aspects of hosting this event are for everyone to have a good time, meet a new challenge and get to know their coworkers in a way they didn’t before.
Softway Solutions will be supplying a variety of sugar-filled food and beverages for the event as well as chicken wings for the serious eaters. Each team will have a total of four and a half hours to work together as a group and prepare their presentation. This will be followed with one hour of presentations and the Softway Solutions executive leadership team judging the presentations, tallying votes and choosing a winning team.
