Contemporary Artist Barbara Tyler Ahlfield Reveals The Secrets Behind her "Pose" Fashion Fantasy Painting Collection Recently Unveiled At Artexpo New York
Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) August 30, 2014 -- "Pose", a collection of seven fantasy fashion oil paintings, has a central theme- "Every woman has a fantasy about her wardrobe and her visual public persona while wearing that wardrobe". Tyler Ahlfield explains that her intention in creating each of the paintings was to capture those fantasy moments when a woman visualizes her debut in a chosen outfit as fashion and fantasy merge through her unique brand of chic. Each individual painting records a different mood, different "pose". The various titles- "Cotton Candy", "Tiger Stripes", "Borzoi Strut", "Forsythia and Tulle", "Pink Prowl", "Moonlight Daiquiri", "Dreams After Dark" define a few of those unique "pose" moments.
Expanding on the the feeling behind "Tiger Stripes"- Barbara remarked-" The inspiration here is the slinky movement of a snake in the warm, golden desert. The pose of the model reflects this- languid and flirtatious with movement suggested by the pattern of colors and stripes in the overall design of her dress. "Dreams After Dark", another example out of the seven paintings was inspired by the dark sparkling quality of night time glamour. The fashion pose is one of festive mystery dressed magically for the evening in elusive chiffon echoing the elusive poetry of the night. The sparkling beadwork and glittering sequins create the stars in the dark evening sky.
