Gladinet Enhances Usability of Enterprise File Sync and Share Platform for Private Cloud Storage
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- With the latest version of Gladinet Cloud Enterprise, the company continues to enhance the cloud storage access and administration experience for its enterprise file sync and share platform. Notable changes include download agents for the web browser clients, enhanced reporting and interface improvements like multi-selection support during cut and paste operations or downloads.
The new download agents for the browser clients add intelligent transfer capabilities like resumable downloads. Without the agents, an interrupted transfer of a large file would be forced to restart. Now the browser client enjoys all the intelligent transfer logic found in the desktop clients, significantly improving browser client performance during large downloads.
New reporting capabilities have also been added. For example, users can view pie charts of how their storage has been allocated, while administrators check upload reports, storage statistics and more.
Gmail styled check boxes allow multi-selection of items that can then be copied and pasted to a new folder, deleted, or downloaded. This simple change is a significant usability enhancement in real life as it was a pain to delete large numbers of items that did not coincide with folder boundaries.
And perhaps one of the coolest usability enhancements is the new "Local Edit" feature. The selected file is automatically downloaded to the associated local application in support of in-place editing within the web browser client. After the changes have been made, the file is automatically stored back to cloud storage.
