BeSafe Technologies Provides School Emergency Planning Platform for Greenwich CT Public Schools
Centerville, MA (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- BeSafe Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that it recently implemented a new All Hazard School Security and Safety Portal Program for the Greenwich Public School District in Connecticut. BeSafe worked with Greenwich school officials to develop a tool and methodology that could be used to record, update, store, and disseminate all of the information required as part of the State of Connecticut’s All Hazard School Security and Safety Program for the district’s schools. While this is a new requirement placed on the school district, the Greenwich Public School system has had a proactive attitude towards school safety and implemented many safety and security policies and programs over the past several years. Previously, BeSafe developed interactive floor plans for all of the district's buildings which are stored on its secure web site and accessible to police and fire departments within the community. This additional feature provides Greenwich Public Schools with a comprehensive automated portal system for all of its school safety programs.
This project, which ties in directly with the existing BeSafe Safety Portal that Greenwich Public Schools has been using, facilitates the creation of formal documentation describing the districts policies and procedures in the face of any type of emergency. From a tornado to an intruder on a campus, the school district has a policy that outlines the steps to be followed by all staff members. These policies, along with training, will help to reduce confusion and panic during emergencies, and allows staff to know what is expected of them should a crisis arise. The templates BeSafe Technologies created for Greenwich Public Schools feature linked data elements from existing safety programs enacted, and fields that host detailed information regarding the All Hazard Plan components, which will be populated with data by each school’s School Security and Safety Committee. The All Hazard Plans will then be distributed to all emergency response agencies within Greenwich, as well as to the district’s staff.
About BeSafe Technologies
BeSafe Technologies provides first responders with advanced information about a facility’s physical layout, surroundings and access points before arriving at a location, thus enabling responders to expedite their intervention. This includes aerial imagery and digital photographs of all facades, entrances and egresses, the location and description of hazardous materials and critical utility shut-offs. This allows first responders to know the exterior surroundings of the property, access routes, and a view of all entrance and escape points, as well as asset identification, enabling pre-planning of evacuation and response. The information is distributed electronically to emergency response agencies and is accessible from most police and other emergency vehicles. BeSafe’s systems are currently implemented in approximately 2,500 end user sites, including over 150 school districts and colleges across 10 states, and numerous hospitals, law enforcement agencies and municipal facilities.
