Renton, Washington (PRWEB) August 29, 2014

TOPICS Entertainment (http://www.topics-ent.com) announces The Island School of Lihue, Hawaii, the Grand Prize Winner in the Secondary Division of the Instant Immersion™ VT End of School Year Celebration 2014, has received its prize for students to study Spanish, Chinese and other languages. Winning schools were selected from school-submitted short essays based on the question, “How would Instant Immersion™ VT benefit (your school’s name) students?” Grand Prize awards can provide up to $15,168-worth of language-learning tools.

The Island School (http://www.ischool.org), an independent co-educational K-12 school located on the island of Kauai, chose to receive Mandarin Chinese and Spanish multimedia tools, including Instant Immersion™ VT e-learning course, Instant Immersion™ On-the-Go audio courses and the digital edition of the Instant Immersion™ workbooks for a more diverse language-learning experience.

As a college preparatory school, The Island School doesn’t shy away from technology or innovation, and has an impressive 100-percent graduation and college acceptance rate among seniors for the last few years.

The Island School plans to utilize Instant Immersion™ VT courses in the computer laboratory to supplement and enhance classroom instruction.

According to Jessica Crow, a Spanish teacher at Island School, “Our students uniquely develop inherent adaptability toward cultural and linguistic principles due to a diverse community of great international influence; Hawaiian studies throughout all elementary levels; and foreign language studies throughout Grades 7-12. However, our foreign language students need greater interactive materials, especially in the languages not as amply represented in the islands.”

The Grand Prize includes Instant Immersion™ VT e-learning courses for up to 250 students. Schools can choose one language per student from English, Spanish, Chinese, French and over 120 additional languages. If available in the same language, the award also includes matching MP3 audio courses and digital workbooks.
