The Anthem Education family of schools, which includes Anthem Online, filed for bankruptcy and will cease online operations this week. The nationally accredited university is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and served students both online and through physical campuses. This situation will affect a significant number of online students in their undergraduate and graduate level degree programs. Trident University International (Trident) has been selected as one of the preferred transfer partners for online degree-seeking students, specifically those in business and health science programs.
Due to proactive and coordinated planning and execution, as well as communication with key Anthem stakeholders, Trident quickly prepared academic paths for affected students to design transfer maps for all courses of study. This groundwork will allow many of the affected students of Anthem to seamlessly integrate themselves into the Trident community without putting their academic or professional goals on hold. With their expertise in educating working adults, Trident was able to anticipate the stress of the affected students.
“The closure of a university – especially as rapidly as what happened with Anthem – is extremely detrimental for students who are meeting the demands of their degree plans. We’re happy to be able to help those students who qualify with program-specific transfer maps, 100% online classes, and a staff that is ready to help students quickly transition to Trident,” said Dr. Michael K. Mahoney, Provost.
Trident is ready to work with Anthem students to guide them into the programs that best fit their academic aspirations and needs. An Admissions team was available on Saturday, August 30th from 8 am to 1 pm pacific time, guiding Anthem students to the best possible solution during this confusing time. Trident’s Admissions team is regularly available Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm pacific time.
As a 100% online university since 1998, Trident serves a diverse group of students including active duty members of the military, veterans, and professionals from the corporate community. Regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the university offers a high quality education with no book fees and some of the most affordable rates among online institutions. Trident’s accreditation was recently reaffirmed for seven years in March 2013.
