United Sovereignty Alliance.org Calls for Citizens’ Constitutional Referendum Vote
Sioux Falls, SD (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- The United Sovereignty Alliance.org spoke out today in response to a Daily Caller article published on August 28, 2014 (1). According to the article, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maps were recently acquired by the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and have sparked fears that the government will be able to seize land under the Clean Water Act.
The United Sovereignty Alliance.org believes that this action would be an abuse of the government’s power. The Alliance cites other examples it believes to be similar, including EPA closures of power plants and factories (2) and the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) policies regarding nonprofit status (3). In response, the Alliance calls for a citizens’ constitutional referendum vote against what they consider to be oligarchy leadership of the Democratic and Republican parties.
The Alliance argues that both the Democratic and Republican Parties have strayed from the Constitution over the last several decades, especially where the Constitution says "a republic of the people, for the people and by the people.” With growing tension between the two dominant political parties, the Alliance believes George Washington was right when he warned in his Farewell Address that political divisions could tear the country apart.
The Alliance hopes to see citizens set aside political differences and join their cause as independent Americans to set a referendum vote for April 16, 2016. Through the referendum, the Alliance hopes to restructure the government by voting on specific constitutional amendments and government forms.
“Boomers such as myself—born between 1940 and 1964—are the ones who should take the lead on this referendum,” says Burton Hill, United Sovereignty Alliance.org President. “We knew what living with a limited government without interference from specific interest groups was. Too much government oversight and power has led our country closer to insolvency with little hope for future generations.”
The Alliance reminds citizens that, as Abraham Lincoln said, “People are the sole owners of the Congress and the Courts,” and that the Founding Fathers placed checks and balances in constitution to keep politics from abusing the process of governing.
The Alliance also points out that the Declaration of Independence says, “Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes.”
