Introspect Technology has delivered multiple 40 lane, 14 Gbps test systems to one of the world’s largest semiconductor Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDM). The miniature test systems are based on the powerful Introspect ESP software and are ideal for SerDes physical-layer measurement, for the specification and validation of signal paths or active cables, and for system-level test.
By eliminating the need for unreliable GHz switch matrices, bulky rack-and-stack instrument chasses, and eliminating the arduous effort of integrating multiple disparate tools into a single operator software flow, the Introspect ESP based systems dramatically reduce test setup complexity and cost. Additionally, by allowing measurement on 40 transmit and receive electrical pairs, these test systems enable remarkable productivity enhancement throughout all stages of product development and test.

The delivered Introspect ESP test systems feature
- independent and parallel bit error rate evaluation
- jitter measurement, eye diagram analysis
- digital communication signal analysis (oscilloscope analysis)
- per lane clock recovery
- per lane pre-emphasis and equalization
- flexible per-lane pattern generation
- fractional (non-integer) clock synchronization, and
- waveform generation
across 40 lanes and at any data rate up to 14 Gbps. They also feature both time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, thus representing a complete solution for new applications such as PCB path qualification or FPGA system transceiver interoperability verification and regression testing.
