After seeing success within professional sports in Europe, 1080Motion launches new functional training and testing system for advanced sports conditioning.

So what is Robotic Resistance? Simply put - by using high precision electric servo motors and advanced computer algorithms, the system is a smart functional training and testing device.

The technology opens up for new training practices not possible with traditional methods. By applying individually optimized training loads and speeds, in the concentric as well as eccentric phase of a movement, it is possible to increase training intensity and stimulate the neuromuscular system beyond the ability of traditional forms of training. As a result, the athlete’s performance will increase, while using a lower total load as well as fewer repetitions and training sessions. This translates to a reduction of potentially damaging stress on joints and soft tissue, more time for recovery and more time for practicing the actual sport. When rehabilitating injured athletes the system can be used to provide a highly controlled training amount. This speeds up the recovery time and minimizes the risk for re-injury.

The robotic technology also measures the force, speed and power produced by the athlete in any functional movement pattern. This information is invaluable to the design, implementation and validation of effective training programs and assessment of sports teams and individual athletes. No other system today has this capability.

In Europe, 1080Motion has provided its systems and assessment methods to prestigious customers within professional soccer, ice hockey, sports research organizations and Olympic training centers.
