The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT LA) Announces the Winner of “Thailand's Ultimate Moments” Volunteer Campaign
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- Nine finalists were chosen to compete and raise $1,000 USD for their volunteering project during the course of a ten-day volunteer in Thailand. The winner of “Thailand's Ultimate Moments” campaign is Team Thai-Namic Trio, Sean Pukdam, Amy Boudsady and Justin Choi from California. Team Thai-Namic Trio spent their ten days in Thailand volunteering at the Elephant Nature Park and Ban Hua Thung in Chiang Mai.
Throughout the competition over the past 2 months, all 3 teams (3 finalists per team) have shown their volunteering spirits with project activities designed by CBT-I (Thailand Community Based Tourism Institute). They have also shared their experiences via personalized blogs and online media, with the winner determined by the content created in sharing their volunteer experiences, Facebook Like numbers and the presentation on August 28 at the Adventure Connect: Spotlight on Thailand Reception hosted by TAT LA at W Hollywood Hotel, Los Angeles.
“Volunteer tourism has become increasingly popular with young American travelers, who want to positively affect the lives of others. 'Thailand's Ultimate Moments' is the first online campaign in the U.S. hosted by TAT LA to promote the new trend of volunteering while traveling, more commonly known as Voluntourism. The three CBT-I destinations comprising of Ban Hua Thung in Chiang Mai, Ban Huai Raeng in Trat, and Ko Yao Noi in Phang-Nga have provided amazing opportunities for the finalists and inspired numbers of travelers in the U.S. to experience these transformative adventures in Thailand,” said Kulpramote Wannalert, Director, TAT LA.
