Local Company Recognized on Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing List 3 Years Running
Albany, NY (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- Inc. magazine recently released its annual 5000 List of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the United States, and once again Ballston Lake-based SmartWatt Energy was near the top. This is the third year SmartWatt earned a spot on the most comprehensive list of the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs. With the average energy company on the list achieving a three-year growth of 168%, this year featured the most competitive crop in the list’s history. SmartWatt Energy joins Go Pro, Tough Mudder, Otterbox and GoDaddy.com, among other prominent brands featured this year.
Over the past three years, SmartWatt has grown 203%, added 162 jobs, and opened a dozen new offices across the country.
The company, which provides customized services for utilities, commercial, industrial and institutional clients and also develops proprietary software that streamlines internal workflow processes and provides comprehensive program reporting, posted $48.8 million in revenue last year. This impressive growth has continued despite a down economy for much of the company’s short history, and without a single merger or acquisition.
