Durham, NC (PRWEB) September 03, 2014
Every year Inc. magazine compiles an exclusive ranking list of the 5000 fastest growing privately owned companies in the United States. Brands such as Yelp, Pandora, Timberland, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, LinkedIn, Zillow, and many other household names gained early exposure as members of this list.
This year, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, a Durham-based personal injury law firm with over 13 NC locations, more than 30 attorneys, and over 100 professional staff members, joined these ranks.
And they were the only North Carolina law firm to do so.
“It is an honor and we are very excited,” said James S. Farrin, the firm founder and president. “But I cannot say I’m surprised. Our staff works so hard, every day for our clients, and this is just the result of that passion. We hope to continue this pattern in an effort to try and make sure all wrongly injured people in North Carolina are treated fairly.”
Applicants who made the list were ranked by comparing the percentage of revenue growth from 2010 to 2013. According to Inc.com, the average company on this year’s list achieved a “mind-boggling three-year growth of 516%.”
Last year the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin recovered over $57 million in total for over 2,200 clients. Plus they led a team of law firms to resolve a historic civil rights case, which resulted in a $1.25 billion settlement for more than 18,000 black farmers, who’d been discriminated against by the U.S. government*.
And this is not the first accolade the James Scott Farrin firm has received this year. For these and other successes, James S. Farrin was named a 2014 Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers**.
This year’s list also included names such as, Which Wich, Fantastic Sams, Swiss Watch International, Bodybuilding.com, SweetFrog, Tough Mudder, Orange Leaf, and Zoe’s Kitchen, among others. Other NC giants included, FastMed Urgent Care Centers, Lonerider Brewing Company and O2 Fitness.
"What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief, Eric Schurenberg,“…but what doesn’t change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship.”
*Each case is unique and must be evaluated on its own merits. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Re Black Farmers Discrimination Litigation, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin led a team of firms to recover $1.25 billion for African-American farmers from the U. S. government for discrimination.
