SFA|SFM Owners Investing in Adventure Recreation at Salamander Resort in Greater Washington, DC Area and Other Locations with Launch of EMPOWER Adventure Operations, LLC
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- Under the leadership of Jason Clement (COO) and Dev Pathik (CEO), the Sports Facilities Advisory (SFA) and its sister firm, Sports Facilities Management (SFM) have transformed the youth and amateur sports landscape in America. The two are now building another company to oversee new developments in the adrenaline sports and adventure tourism markets.
“We have been involved in adventure sports, canopy tours, and adventure tourism for more than 20 years, but we saw the need to establish a brand and to bring our institutional grade resources to the adventure recreation markets,” said Clement.
With the creation of EMPOWER Adventure Operations, Clement and Pathik have partnered with Former Army Ranger and Captain, Joe DeRing. DeRing returned from multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and has dedicated his life to sharing his leadership and teambuilding skills with others.
The trio recently funded and now operates a canopy tour that spans nearly 20 acres at the Salamander Resort in Northern Virginia. The Salamander Resort was developed by Sheila Johnson, Co-Founder of The Black Entertainment Network (BET) and current CEO of Salamander Resorts.
One major area of growth in sports tourism is the eco tourism and adventure tourism market. Canopy tours, zip lines, and adventure parks are a major part of this burgeoning industry segment. SFM|SFA owners Clement and Pathik have previously planned and owned adventure operations in numerous locations and have dedicated resources to the segment.
“We are in the business because we love it, because it is a growth sector, and because we see opportunities to bring enterprise level strategy and financing to this exciting industry,” said Clement.
“Resort guests today are looking for memorable shared experiences. You can see this in every aspect of an exceptional resort experience,” added Pathik. “No one knows this more than the leadership team at Salamander Resorts so we are thrilled to be partnered with the company.”
