Swift Eyewear To Host On-site Eye Exams For Queen’s Students
(PRWEB) September 09, 2014 -- Swift Eyewear, an online retailer of prescription glasses and brand name frames, is coming to the Queen’s University campus to host a 2-day on-site eye exam and prescription glasses package sale.
The 2 day event allows students to utilize their health plan coverage to access eye exams from a qualified optometrist and provides them with a package perfectly suited to their health plan coverage to keep the costs to a minimum.
The event registration is online at http://queens.eyeglassesforeducation.com/ to book a time slot for September 10th. Once all the eye exam spots for September 10th are full we will open up registration for the 11th. Limited space is available and therefore requires that students sign-up in advance.
“Our primary customers are students and we decided the best way to support our community was to donate a pair of prescription glasses to students who could not otherwise afford eyeglasses and establish a bursary fund. “ said Joseph Ianni, CEO of Swift Eyewear Inc.
Numerous schools participate in the Eyeglasses For Education program with St Lawrence College’s three campuses having most recently hosted an onsite eye exam and eyewear purchase event for both students and employees.
Eyeglasses For Education is a community support program created by Swift Eyewear designed to improve the lives of students based on 4 pillars of success:
(1) Student Support: A free pair of prescription glasses is provided to a student in need every month of the school year per participating campus;
(2) Student Employment: Students can earn extra income by representing the Swift Eyewear brand in their community;
(3) Student Health: Students can obtain an eye exam and purchase glasses within their insurance coverage, and
(4) Student Scholarships: Through donations at time of purchase Swift Eyewear funds $1000 scholarships for students throughout North America. Swift awarded over $5,000 in scholarships last year alone.
“We are always looking for new Colleges and Universities to join the Eyeglasses For Education program. There is no cost to participate and schools get the benefit of the free pair of prescription glasses for students in need just by signing up for an event.” said Pierre Brousseau, Vice President at Swift Eyewear Inc.
