Public Speakers Association Launches Newest Chapter in Woodstock Ontario
Woodstock Ontario (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- The Public Speakers Association serves individuals who want to learn about the business of public speaking whether to make a business as a speaker or to use public speaking as a means of attracting business. Founded in Dallas, Texas, in January 2013, the Public Speakers Association made its way to Canada in January 2014. Under the leadership of Woodstock business owner Anne Miner, Regional Development Director, the association has already established six chapters in Canada: Calgary, Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, St. Catherine's, Toronto and now Woodstock.
According to Miner, the Public Speakers Association is a unique entry to the marketplace, "We provide the education, resources and safe environment for our members to develop their skills, and the connections to build their businesses, whether they aspire to be a speaker as their vocation, speak to build their businesses or offer services to the speaking industry."
Peter Wright, also of Woodstock, steps into the role of Executive Director for the Woodstock Chapter. Peter brings his perspective of marketing, business and speaking experience on two continents to the role. He spent most of his life in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and South Africa, where his corporate career included marketing management in large and small companies, running his own small factories and an export trading business. Civil war and its resulting chaos led Peter to migrate to Canada and settle here Woodstock, where he founded Focused Prosperity, a company that specializes in helping people overcome adversity, focus on opportunities and create successful lives. Peter's main message is "It's not what happens to you in life, it's what you do about it that counts."
