IPEVO Introduces the VX-1 Internet Conference Station
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) September 03, 2014 -- With a rallying cry of "high-quality, hassle-free teleconferencing," education technology company IPEVO has just released the VX-1 Internet Conference Station for teachers, businesspeople, and others who depend on teleconferencing and virtual meetings. With advanced sound technology for isolating, enhancing and clarifying the human voice, VX-1 is being touted as a superior alternative to built-in microphones and speakers as well as existing conference stations on the market. VX-1 is now available from the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com at a price of $219.
VX-1 features a modern design in black with five separate microphones to capture any combination of voices around the table. The default Omnidirectional microphone (or Omni mic) captures sound in a full 360 degrees so that everyone in the room can be heard without yelling or crowding around the station. VX-1 also features four Unidirectional microphones (or Uni mics) which can be selected via Zone Enhanced Mode. These selectable Uni mics have a larger range and higher sensitivity than the Omni mic, and are best for capturing a single person while filtering out unwanted background noise.
At the heart of VX-1 is a 16-bit Digital Sound Processor (DSP) with full duplex, meaning that both sides of the conversation can talk at the same time to more closely emulate a face-to-face conversation. The DSP has built-in hardware acceleration and a 16kHz sampling rate with adaptive noise suppression and echo cancellation. A separate, specialized sound processor serves to clarify, smooth and enhance human voices in order to avoid the "thin" or "unnatural" effect that many DSPs are known for.
The button interface of VX-1 is deliberately simple such that a new user can immediately understand how to operate the station. Buttons for volume control, one-touch mute and mic selection are located on the top of the unit. Additionally, bright LED indicators show which microphone is in use or whether the unit is muted to eliminate guesswork.
The VX-1 Internet Conference Station is compatible with PC or Mac via plug-and-play USB. The station also features a 3.5mm audio jack and cable which can be connected to an iDevice including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. In this way, an iDevice connected to VX-1 becomes a professional-level conference station for impromptu meetings. VX-1 is fully compatible with many popular VoIP applications including Skype, Adobe Connect, GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, Facetime and more.
"Whether it's for business meetings or remote learning sessions, our customers have communicated a need for high-quality voice transmission as opposed to the inferior experience using built-in microphones and speakers," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Too often, participants in a remote meeting feel they need to huddle around the microphone and talk louder and harsher to be understood. VX-1's advanced technology allows for a natural mode of conversation that closely mimics chatting with someone in the same room. As we like to say, it's the next best thing to being there."
Alongside many other products for education and business, the VX-1 Internet Conference Station is now available through the IPEVO Online Store at http://www.ipevo.com.
