Big Stakes at the 12th Annual 168 Film Festival as Sponsors and Stars Salute Faith-Based Filmmaking

Filmmakers vie for top honors and more than $25K in cash and prizes

This year's prizes are strategic

Worldwide filmmakers will soon vie for top honors and more than $25,000 in cash and sponsored prizes at the 12th Annual 168 Film Festival, a red carpet awards show designed as an international celebration of faith in film. The event takes place Saturday, September 12-13, at the Aratani Japanese Theater in Downtown L.A., located at 244 S. San Pedro Street. (Sept. 13: Screenings 10am-5:30pm, Red Carpet, 5:30pm-7pm; Awards Show: 7:30pm-9pm.)

In addition to $5000 cash and over $20,000 in donated services, the winning team will go from the theater to the after party in a 14-passenger, custom limousine called "America One." Owned by Spencer Clark and adorned with lavish airbrushed paintings of Elvis, Michael Jackson and other icons, the vehicle will make its debut at the 168 Film Festival before hitting patriotic celebrations across the country to celebrate our veterans.

The Prize package for BEST FILM includes:

  •     $1,000 in Post Production Services provided by Roush Media
  •     $7,500 in Equipment Rentals provided by Hollywood Rentals
  •     $3,000 in Audio Post Production provided by Monkeyland
  •     CV500 Full HD Mini-Broadcast Camera provided by Marshall Electronics
  •     Moving Visions will arrange three interviews with media (print radio or TV) for their next feature film project.

Best Film Runner-Up wins 3,500 in Equipment Rentals provided by Hollywood Rentals; and $2,000 in Audio Post Production provided by Monkeyland.

Additional prizes include Best Editor: $1,000 in Post Production Services provided by Roush Media; and Best Cinematographer, $1,000 in Post Production Services provided by Roush Media.

According to 168 Film Founder and Executive Director John David Ware, “This year’s prizes are strategic. Our amazing sponsors helped us design prize packages that will bolster the winning filmmakers’ creativity. It’s our goal to empower them to continue producing excellence.”


Advent Media – “Helping people communicate with technology,” Advent Media is a boutique production, post and web services company, which powers the 168film website.

Roush Media -- Specializes in on-set dailies, 4K post services and high quality post production services at discounted rates. Roush is providing signature Color Grading & post-production services to Best Picture, Best Director of Photography and Best Editor winners.

Hollywood Rentals – Hollywood Rentals services small and large Film and TV productions with Lighting, Theatrical, Grip and Expendables. They offer rigging and striking services, power, and a 4,000 square foot stage for FX shots, camera tests, still photography, product demonstrations and industry training.

Hollywood Rentals will donate a total of $10,000 of in-kind rental credit for lighting, grip, electric or stage as follows: $7,500 rental credit to the Best Picture Award Winning Producer, $2,500 rental credit to the runner-up Best Picture Award Winning Producer.

Monkeyland Audio – Now in their 20th year, Monkeyland has worked hard to become an award-winning leader in the world of audio post production. They deliver a great sound studio for feature filmmakers.

Monkeyland will donate a total of $ 5,000 of in-kind rental credit for sound services as follows: $3,000 credit to the Best Picture Award Winning Producer, $2,000 credit to the runner-up. (

The Osbrink Agency – A prestigious full-service agency, providing the Entertainment and Fashion Industry with many of the most visible clients in film, television, commercials, voice-over and print. They will present a discussion on “Your Child in Hollywood” during pre-award show activities on Sat., Sept. 13. (

The 168 Film Festival is a two-day affair, Sept. 12-13. Special programming for Saturday, September 13, includes “168KIDS!,” where kids ages 5-15 are invited to walk the red carpet and mingle with celebrities including Nathan Kress (iCarly), Carmina Garay (React To That), Nay Nay Kirby (Who’s Watching the Kids), Noah Dahl (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Mandalynn Carlson (Machine Gun Preacher), Kiana Lyz Rivera (Immigrant) and Tara-Nicole Azarian (It’s Supernatural). The “Pastors & Producers Media Forum,” will bring Southern California pastors together with Hollywood leaders to discuss “Capitalizing On The Year of Christian Film,” from 3pm-4pm.
