Caterpillar Director Dr. Lou Balmer-Millar to Provide Breakfast Keynote Address at SAE International 2014 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- SAE International announces that Dr. Lou Balmer-Millar, Director of Research and Advanced Engineering, Product Development & Global Technology with Caterpillar Inc., will provide the Breakfast Keynote Address on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the SAE 2014 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress.
Dr. Balmer-Millar will speak from 8-9 a.m. in Rooms 29-31 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Her presentation, “Off-Road Mobile Machinery Fuel Efficiency - A Total Systems Perspective,” will illustrate the benefits of systems optimization using a detailed example of a hybrid hydraulic excavator and examining the benefit of technologies at the component, engine, machine system, and worksite levels.
In her role with Caterpillar, Dr. Balmer-Millar oversees technology development in the areas of Energy and Power Systems, Machine and Machine Systems, Automation and Enterprise Solutions, Advanced Materials, Virtual Product Development, and Advanced Manufacturing.
The SAE 2014 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress features a theme of “Engineering Leadership – Changing, Guiding, Influencing” and Executive Leadership is provided by Eaton. The mission of the conference is to be the conference of choice for the sharing of technical knowledge and networking for the global on-road and off-road Commercial Vehicle Industry.
