Florida Injury Attorneys and Representatives from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Attend Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury
Bradenton, Florida (PRWEB) September 05, 2014 -- The Manasota Trial Lawyers Board's latest seminar was entitled “Closed Head Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury - The Current Medicine/Science for the P.I. Attorney.” The highly successful seminar focused on the science and effects of TBI and featured presentations by medical doctors on the subject.
Dr. Larry E. Schutz, Ph.D. and Dr. Maria Romanas gave a lecture on “Closed Head Injury and Traumatic Brian Injury from the Neuropsychologist Perspective,” and Dr. John D. Lloyd, Ph.D., CPE, CBIS, gave a lecture entitled, “Mechanisms of Head and Brain Injury”.
The seminar drew a long list of VIP attendees including the president and past president of the Florida Justice Association (FJA), a representative from the American Association of Justice (AAJ), local politicians, and notably, representatives from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers National Football League.
In addition to the many notable guests, the seminar was also attended by members of the Sarasota/Bradenton area legal community, including many personal injury attorneys and civil trial lawyers.
Founder of the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board, Attorney Bernard F. Walsh from Shapiro, Goldman, Babboni & Walsh had this to say about the event: “Both auto accidents and tackle football can cause serious injuries to the brain. Often these kinds of injuries can be very difficult to deal with, deeply affecting the injured and their family. Because they are not immediately visible to the casual observer, they have in many cases, also been controversial when accountability is at stake. Bringing this important issue to light for both the legal community and athletic community is essential to help protect athletes and motorists. It is a great honor to have such distinguished guest speakers and attendees attend the MTLB seminar to learn more about this issue that has such far reaching implications for civil law and contact sports.”
Attendees of the seminar also earned two Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. The Florida Bar Association requires members to earn CLE credits every year, to further enhance the knowledge and performance of bar member attorneys.
