Roadtrip Nation, a career exploration organization based in Southern California, in partnership with the University of Phoenix Foundation, today announced the premiere of Season 11 of the Roadtrip Nation documentary series. Distributed through public television stations across the country, the series will air beginning Sept. 6, reaching more than 70 million households.
The weekly, half-hour documentary series follows the up-close and personal journeys of young adults as they travel the country interviewing inspiring leaders from across a variety of careers and professions. The three road-trippers of Season 11 come from very different backgrounds. Tele’jon Quinn is a native of Oakland, Calif., Ed Whittle comes from a small town in England, and Olivia Zanfardino is a University of Phoenix graduate from the city of Pasadena, Calif.
The new season features eight episodes where the road-trippers travel through 25 states, receiving authentic feedback from experts of a wide range of industries. From poets to NASA engineers, by speaking with accomplished professionals who have turned their passions into careers, the road-trippers gain a framework for building their own fulfilling livelihoods and are inspired to take the next steps to make their ambitions a reality.
“We are thrilled that our partnership with the University of Phoenix Foundation has provided our road-trippers with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with successful leaders in fields of their interest. With such unique insight gained, the Roadtrip Nation experience is an unforgettable one for participants and viewers alike,” said Mike Marriner, cofounder of Roadtrip Nation.
Throughout more than 20 powerful interviews, the road-trippers hear perspective-shifting advice from a diverse scope of leaders, including: human rights attorney Brittan Heller, spoken word poet and activist Staceyann Chin, educational policy professor David Stovall, whitewater rafting guide Sherry Grathler and Adam Steltzner, a NASA engineer who directed the landing of the Curiosity rover on Mars.
“We are proud of this opportunity to work with Roadtrip Nation in helping the road-trippers on their journey to discover their path,” said Pat Gottfried, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Apollo Education Group and executive director of the University of Phoenix Foundation. “University of Phoenix is dedicated to helping individuals turn their passions and interests into a meaningful career through education, and we hope the experiences of Ed, Olivia and Tele’jon will inspire others to seek out a career that is both rewarding and meaningful.”
The philosophy that drives Roadtrip Nation is the search for individuals who have followed their interests and become successful by carving out their own paths. For airtimes, check your local listings and visit http://roadtripnation.com/watch.
