About NVRDC: Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) strives to empower crime victims in the nation’s capital through a collaborative approach by providing holistic, comprehensive services through community-based education, therapy and counseling, and legal support in order to achieve justice and encourage self-determination. In just over two years, NVRDC has served over 1,000 victims of crime. After nearly two years of running the Sexual Assault Crisis Response Project, NVRDC has responded to over 700 hospital advocacy calls in the District for survivors of sexual assault. NVRDC’s legal services have assisted over 400 clients with legal cases related to their rights following the victimization. NVRDC has successfully increased conversion reporting of sexual assaults (survivor’s reporting to police when initially not reporting at the hospital) by fourfold. Additionally, NVRDC is the only legal service provider in the DC area to have both civil legal services and crime victims’ rights attorneys representing all survivors of crime in the multiple justice systems.
