Petaluma, CA (PRWEB) September 04, 2014
Deakin, long-time advocate of Mother Nature, community builder, and radio show host has published his first book. This inspiring book walks readers through anecdotal yarns and events of certain barns from the early days in British Columbia to Heritage Salvage' s start in an Occidental, California carport. Readers follow the salvaging of hundred-year-old water tanks and repurposing ancient warehouses into beautiful restaurant remodels. Discover the joys and wonders of Salvaging Heritage while transforming old wood to style and elegance in restaurants, firehouses, breweries, wineries, taverns, tearooms and countless homes.
Book launch, signing and extravaganza will be held at Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol on Tuesday, September 9th from 2-7pm. The event will be broadcast live on The Drive with Steve Jaxon on KSRO 1350AM and 103.5 FM from 3-6pm. Books will be available for purchase.
Guests include Julia Butterfly Hill, Dean Biersch of Hopmonk, Sondra Bernstein of the girl and the fig, Primo Publisher Chris Gruener, Legendary Designer Iain Morris and Editor Extraordinaire Mark Burstein. The Highway Poets anchor the music stage with Mr. December, Bootleg Honeys, the Butterfly Ship and Cahoots and many special guests who will all make this occasion "one for the books."
Hill writes in forward: “Deakin is working to help reconnect people to the beautiful, sacred planet that we live on and with, by reclaiming other people’s 'trash' and, in so doing, proving what a boundless treasure this Earth and all of its beings are.”
From beloved late George Snyder, a longtime Chronicle North Bay reporter and dedicated conservationist: “Bug’s sustainable enthusiasm for recycling valuables of the past includes community outreach into the future, such as his Reclamation Road project. Dying farming towns would do well to heed Bug’s advice in order to help turn what has become old and forgotten into what can be renewed and sustainable.”
Deakin is available for interviews and appearances. For booking presentations, media appearances, interviews, and/or book-signings contact: office(at)heritagesalvage(dot)com
