Interactive Online Medical Simulation Helps Clinicians Navigate the Challenges of Clinical Diagnosis of a Movement Disorder
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- CME Outfitters, LLC (CMEO) announces the release of their brand new certified neuroscienceCME Medical Simulation titled, Navigating the Challenges of Clinical Diagnosis and Management of a Movement Disorder. Led by faculty expert Cynthia L. Comella, MD, FAAN, Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, this clinical simulation offers a challenging learning experience where the choices of the participant determine patient outcomes. This is a certified continuing medical education activity that is available online to all neurologists, psychiatrists, internists, primary care physicians, and other health care professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who have an interest in movement disorders.
The simulation takes participants through a mock scenario where they are presenting with a patient, a 50-year-old woman with non-specific complaints of depression, shoulder-pain, slight tremor, and stiffness. The end goal is to diagnose the patient by way of implementing evidence-based diagnostic and treatment strategies that align with current evidence and expert specialty society guideline recommendations. At the end of the activity, participants should be able to:
- Conduct a focused history, physical exam, and work-up to evaluate a 50-year-old woman with non-specific complaints of depression, shoulder pain, slight tremor, and stiffness.
- Develop a treatment plan that is based on the working diagnosis and the patient's comorbid conditions found during assessment and evaluation.
