WESTVILLE, NJ (PRWEB) September 08, 2014
Today, Terra Posts PV, leading utility-scale PV installer, announces the completion of the mechanical construction on the US Virgin Islands’ largest solar project to date. ‘Spanish Town Solar Project,’ consists of 5MW DC located on the island of St. Croix.
The energy produced will contribute to the territory’s goal of reducing fossil fuel consumption by 60 percent over 10 years. ‘Spanish Town Solar Project’ will provide the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) with enough electricity to power approximately 1,500 homes. Solar power popularity among islands consistently rises due to the reliance on the importing of fossil fuels.
