Los Angeles Kings to Host “Power Play for MDA” Fundraiser to Benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 05, 2014 -- The Los Angeles Kings are fighting back against muscle disease during the inaugural “Power Play for MDA” fundraiser at STAPLES Center on Sept. 25, 2014, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association-Greater Los Angeles chapter.
The first “Power Play for MDA” event invites guests to experience a unique social event that will raise funds to help the organization continue to make progress in the fight for muscle health.
Local business executives will attend the exclusive fundraising event during the LA Kings vs. Anaheim Ducks home game as “Power Players” for muscle disease. After hitting their $2,500 pre-event fundraising goal, each MDA Power Player will gain access to the Power Player suite on game day with a guest of their choice.
Participants can meet the LA Kings Ice Crew and mascot Bailey, as well as local MDA families and business executives from the area while raising money in support of MDA’s mission to help save and improve lives of those fighting muscle disease.
“MDA is excited to kick off this partnership with the Los Angeles Kings," said MDA Director of Business Development Elizabeth Tenpas. "We are grateful to have the support of a sports team that is committed to serving its local community, helping to fight back against the dozens of life-threatening muscle diseases that affect families throughout Southern California."
Funds raised at the event directly benefit local MDA families to help support MDA's programs of research and health care services, as well as send children affected by muscle disease to a week-long, barrier-free MDA summer camp at the Irvine Outdoor Education Center in Orange, Calif.
