MONEXgroup is doing its part to help find the cure for Lou Gehrig’s disease. On August 28, MONEXgroup employees participated in the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge," a seemingly peculiar yet effective campaign that raises awareness and funds for those who are suffering from ALS. In addition to participating in the activity, MONEXgroup also donated $1,680 to ALS at (the leading not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding research to curing and treating Canadians affected by ALS).

In case you have yet to hear about the “Ice Bucket Challenge” – it requires daring participants who don’t mind getting wet and a little cold. The challenge involves dumping a bucket of ice water over your head and posting a video online or donating $100 to the ALS charity. During this challenge you are asked to then nominate three people to do the challenge and they have 24 hours to comply (or a donation of $100 must be made). This challenge has gone viral on a number of social media networks such as: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

MONEXgroup accepted the challenge from their Marketing Manager, Vicky Martins, on Thursday and seven employees participated in pouring, dumping and splashing ice cold water on each other and then nominating: Victor Andrade from Chase Paymentech, Kevin Lawlor from RBC and Stan Saibil from Phelps to do the same.

This ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is one of the many corporate social responsibility initiatives that MONEXgroup partakes in. Other charities and initiatives they support are: The Daily Bread Food Bank, The Canadian Cancer Society and Light the Night.
