GREENCROWN Energy — a leading full-service energy consulting company specializing in energy supply, cost reduction and turnkey cogeneration systems development — has been named a preferred vendor by the East Williamsburg Valley Industrial Development Corporation (EWVIDCO) for all energy advisory-related services.

The East Williamsburg Valley Industrial Development Corporation (EWVIDCO) has selected EWVIDCO Member GREENCROWN Energy — a leading full-service energy consulting company specializing in energy supply, cost reduction and turnkey cogeneration systems development — as a preferred vendor for all energy advisory-related services.

Offering a robust suite of free services to over 1,000 businesses in the Industry Business and Ombudsman Zones of Greenpoint/Williamsburg and North Brooklyn, EWVIDCO, founded in 1982, has taken a proactive approach to helping interested members keep their energy costs in check.

“Our mission is to offer timely, reliable support to our members on a sweeping range of business issues — from tax credits to hiring and relocation," EWVIDCO Executive Director Leah Archibald said. "Certainly, helping our members find ways to lower costs ranks among the most important business topics we tackle. We named Green Crown Energy as our preferred energy adviser because of its enviable track record of successfully negotiating extremely attractive long-term electric and gas contracts on behalf of many of our members.”

According to Paul Errigo, Director of Business Development at GreenCrown Energy, the tremendous effort that EWVIDCO is making on behalf of its members should serve as a model for membership organizations around the country. “Unlike many people, they fully understand that simply lowering a company’s electric and gas bills can be very misleading,” he noted. “Many companies fail to realize that those savings can go up in smoke by the fine print and intricacies of a gas and electricity contract.”

Errigo pointed out that a number of contractual details — including a contract’s end term with termination charges, fees and tariffs — could result in an energy contract that does more harm than good. “Sadly, an alarming number of businesses wind up paying more than they would have if they never signed the contract in the first place," he said. "That’s why we first take all the time necessary to fully understand the unique energy needs of a business.”

EWVIDCO was pleased to name GREENCROWN Energy as its preferred energy vendor for that reason, Archibald explained. “With GREENCROWN onboard, we can confidently recommend energy advisers who are established and proven experts in the complex world of electric and gas procurement contracts. And with more than 1,000 businesses employing over 15,000 residents in the areas we serve, that’s a huge deal to us," she said. "As I tell businesses all the time, make sure you’re working with advisers who are not only respected in the industry, but truly have your best interests in mind.”

Errigo added that GreenCrown Energy is always available to help businesses plan for their long-tern energy needs. “For instance, many companies wisely call us because they want a second opinion before signing a new energy contract. Or perhaps businesses have an expiring energy contract and want a much better deal next time around," he said. "Of course, lots of businesses are simply fed up with being economically bullied by big energy companies, and are ready to have an electric and gas contract in place but don’t know what energy advisory company to select. All any business has to do is give us a call and we’re happy to assist.” Errigo added, “I grew up in Brooklyn and am absolutely thrilled with the revitalization of Williamsburg, and the assistance EWVIDCO provides to its members. We are proud to help EWVIDCO and their members any way we can.”
