One of the largest salsa festivals in the US, the 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival, was held on July 26 – 27, 2014 in Oxnard, California. One of the largest salsa festivals in the US, the 21st Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival, was held on July 26 – 27, 2014 in Oxnard, California. Early in the festival, a panel of judges named NAKED infusions salsa Best Salsa in a Jar. NAKED infusions beat out numerous competitors from several states to win this honor.

NAKED infusions Founder Selene Kepila was delighted to receive the official award plaque. Kepila said, "We worked long and hard to make sure that NAKED infusions salsa tasted fresh and delicious even though it comes in a jar. It's great to see that hard work pay off."

Thousands of visitors to the festival's Salsa Tasting Tent were able to try several varieties of NAKED infusions, including Oaxaca White Chocolate, Rustic Blue Cheese and Signature Ripe Tomato. Attendees were impressed with the fresh, homemade taste and creative flavor combinations. Kepila said, "A lot of people expect the infused flavors to be really strong. They think the Oaxaca White Chocolate salsa will taste like a candy bar, or the Rustic Blue Cheese salsa will taste like blue cheese salad dressing. But it's much more subtle than that. They taste like salsa with a creamy undertone of white chocolate or blue cheese."

NAKED infusions offers eight varieties of salsa, including Signature Ripe Tomato in Mild, Medium and Hot, California Burnt Sage, Fire Roasted Garlic, Black Silk Espresso, Oaxaca White Chocolate and Rustic Blue Cheese. The infused flavors of NAKED infusions salsa is achieved through a special cooking method to allow a layering effect on the tongue with each bite.

NAKED infusions salsa was set apart from other salsas at the Oxnard Salsa Festival by their use of organic, Non-GMO ingredients. All NAKED infusion salsa is vegetarian, and all but two varieties are vegan. (The non-vegan flavors are, not surprisingly, Rustic Blue Cheese and Oaxaca White Chocolate.) NAKED infusions salsas do not contain gluten, vinegar, onions, or added sugar (except for the Oaxaca White Chocolate).

Kepila said, "The Oxnard Salsa Festival is such an important event in the salsa world. Receiving the award for Best Salsa in a Jar means that people went out of their way to visit our table. We were opening a new jar every few minutes. Our hands were sore at the end of the day, but it was worth it for the looks on everyone's faces as they got their first taste."
