Voxy Announces Partnership with Universidade Metodista de São Paulo
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- Voxy, the education technology company that pioneered personalized and adaptive English language learning technology, today announced their partnership with Universidade Metodista – a leading private nonprofit university in the Metropolitan Area of São Paulo that currently enrolls over 18,000 students across a broad range of degree programs, including communications, theology, and business.
Voxy’s leading cloud-based platform has been specifically chosen as a stand-alone supplement for Metodista’s Business and Economics Faculty (FAE) program, which has 4,000 students, of whom 1,000 are distance learners. Each course has been tailor-made to the students’ needs and unique goals. Voxy will also provide their unique placement and assessment test, VPA™, to ensure that the learners’ courses are driving the desired outcomes and meeting Metodista’s requirements.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to offer a solution for Metodista’s students to develop their English language skills,” said Katharine Nielson, Voxy’s Chief Education Officer. “In fitting this program to their specific needs, our language experts have developed the Voxy Online School™ to accelerate students’ learning in universities and provide a scalable solution for corporations. We have seen great engagement within the first several months of activation, and are confident that these rates will continue to increase as their students progress through our program.”
"Metodista University has the goal of speeding its internationalization process, which will allow us to increase the number of students we send to study abroad, and also receive international students to our campus. This includes having classes held in English in our Undergraduate and Graduate schools. In order to get there, we needed a partner that could capture our student's attention and interests with a modern course fit for our current world, using real and current content and being flexible so the student can study at any time, from anywhere,” said Jeferson dos Santos, Professor of International Commerce. “We chose Voxy as a partner, a course that offers all of this and more. They are proactive in helping the student stay motivated, pay close attention to performance and propose new strategies to engage them."
In the first month of this partnership, Metodista saw a 95 percent activation rate. Due to Voxy’s expertise in enrolling and engaging new students, Metodista users have completed over 22,000 lessons and used the course for over 1,200 hours in total.
