HIPOWER SYSTEMS and Ancona Controls Partner to Supply Uninterruptible Power to Midwest Locations; Equip Major Cable/Internet Provider with Standby Generator
(PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- HIPOWER SYSTEMS, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in the U.S. and Canada, today announced that Ancona Controls, a Michigan-based provider of Back-up power solutions, selected a HJW 205 T6U diesel HIPOWER SYSTEMS backup generator to provide power continuity of service for one of Michigan’s largest cable/Internet providers.

The generator is ensuring reliable power for a “head-end” site―a master facility that receives signals (in this case, video on demand) for processing and distribution over a cable television system. Since 2012, HIPOWER SYSTEMS and Ancona Controls have been working together to provide, service and maintain generator-based backup power for head-end sites and other “backbone” cable and Internet provider sites throughout the Midwest market.
For the project, HIPOWER SYSTEMS mounted the generator on a 1000-gallon sub-base tank providing 60+ hours of runtime. The MDEQ Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)-approved fuel tank was customized for the harsh conditions and specific codes of the state, with winterization equipment, external fills, vents and alarms. The generator is part of a complete continuous-power package that also includes DC (battery) power through UPS (uninterruptible power supply) equipment.
