Benchmarks on an HP DL580 server with four Intel® Xeon® E7-4800/8800 v2 processors and seven 40 Gbps Ethernet Mellanox ports leveraging DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit) with 6WINDGate respond to 6.5 million HTTP requests per second and sustain 107 million open connections, enabling breakthrough performance and capacity on multi-core CPUs.

6WINDGate’s TCP Termination module delivers a socket programming model that is designed to take advantage of multi-core environments, enabling fully parallel operations for both session creation and data path. As a result, linear performance scalability can be achieved as more processor cores are allocated to the application.

TCP Termination Performance
The 6WINDGate TCP Termination module accelerates networking applications by terminating TCP connections in the fast path instead of the Linux kernel. TCP applications create a socket in the 6WINDGate fast path to receive TCP packets for a specific IP address and port.
Performance benchmarks on an HP DL580 server include:
- 5 million TCP sockets created per second
- 242 Gbps of outbound HTTP application throughput
- Concurrent active TCP sockets only limited by memory on the system
