Miss Black Illinois USA Presents the 2015 Scholarship Pageant
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- The Miss Black Illinois USA 2015 Scholarship Pageant will be held on October 25, 2014, at the DuSable Museum of African American History. Young women from across the state will vie for the title of Miss Black Illinois and Talented Teen USA 2015. Founded in 1986 by Karen Arrington, the Miss Black USA organization promotes service and scholarship, while providing young women of color an opportunity to be a community and state ambassador during their reign.
“This year we will have ladies representing various cities and suburbs, including Miss Black Chicago, Miss Black South Suburban and Miss Black Western Illinois to name a few,” says Tina DeNard Executive Director for Miss Black Illinois.
Along with the scholarship award, Miss Black Illinois and Talented Teen USA will have the opportunity to work with various organizations and sponsors, traveling across the state to support service initiatives and their personal platform. The program gives the talented African American women of Illinois a platform to influence their community while gaining statewide and national exposure.
The Miss Black Illinois USA Organization, designed to develop, celebrate, and assist with the goals of African American women; focuses on scholarship, leadership and empowerment.
“Our belief is that African American women should be economically empowered, spiritually centered, and civic minded”, says DeNard.
The hosts for this years’ event are director, writer, actor and model, Richard Gallion and on-air radio personality, Dana Divine.
Richard Gallion has appeared in numerous films and television shows including Chicago PD and Transformers 4. Dana Divine, is an acclaimed television show producer/host, and is currently a popular on-air personality for the Music of Love and Inspiration on Clear Channel’s WGCI 107.5FM. Radio Station.
Miss Black Illinois USA Scholarship Pageant is the Official Preliminary to the Miss Black USA Pageant http://www.missblackusa.org.
