Baby Appleseed Donates over $345,000 in Nursery Furniture to Kids in Distress (K.I.D.S)/Fashion Delivers
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- “Kids in Distressed Situations is a charity that Baby Appleseed has worked with in the past, and we are very happy to continue our support of this amazing, and much needed charitable organization", says Neill Herbert, CEO of Baby Appleseed.
“So far this year, Baby Appleseed has generously donated 1,210 pieces of nursery furniture worth more than $345,000.00. These donations have been particularly helpful to parents in need in communities throughout Las Vegas and Southern California, and are an excellent example of a company using its products to help families. We’re proud to have Baby Appleseed as a partner and look forward to our continued combined efforts to help families.”
Since its founding in 2004, Baby Appleseed has been driven by its social responsibility to build a new kind of baby furniture company, so parents could improve upon the classic nursery or children's bedroom, while making a positive impact on the environment and our community. All their Greenguard Gold certified baby cribs proudly use non-toxic, water-borne finishes together with solid wood construction and non-moving parts, which are safe for children and the planet.
Before eco-friendly was the latest buzzword, the company partnered with the non-profit organization, American Forests, planting 10 trees with every crib purchase. The Global Releaf program includes many regions in the United States urgently in need of trees. To date, Baby Appleseed has planted trees throughout the USA thanks to caring customers, who believe that their mission is essential in creating a better world for each future generation.
“Providing a safe, efficient and comfortable nursery helps give parents the best chance of raising their children well,” commented K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers Co-chairman Gary Simmons.
Kids In Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) was founded in 1985 by children’s industry executives, and in 2005 Fashion Delivers was created by adult apparel and home fashions professionals. On April 7, 2014, the two organizations merged to become K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers, Inc., allowing both nonprofits to better serve families in need and supporting their continuing efforts to aid both children and adults. The organization helps fight poverty and family tragedies through the gift of new products, including apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books, school supplies and other important items. Merchandise is donated from companies that make or market the goods, and K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers bestows hope and dignity to people in need through community nonprofit partners. Since 1985, over $1 billion of donated products have been distributed through their network, serving the poor and disadvantaged worldwide.
And it all began with the simple act of planting a tree. “Caring for the future” and giving back have been Baby Appleseed’s guiding principles. The company demonstrates time and time again that it truly acts on its environmental beliefs, by supporting local communities, beautifying the landscape and manufacturing a healthy and safe product to help to sustain our planet for all the children of the world, generation after generation.
