Calypso Delivers Video, Animation, and Writing Services for Renewable Energy Clients

Calypso Communications, an integrated, full-service public relations, marketing, and creative design firm, recently provided vital communications services to two renewable energy firms, completing an interactive video and animation project for Iberdrola Renewables and writing Pattern Energy’s first annual report for shareholders.

Iberdrola Renewables is the second-largest wind operator in the U.S. The company operates more than 621 MW of gas-fired generation and more than 129 billion cubic feet of owned and contracted U.S. natural gas storage. Calypso design and animation experts created and produced a video using drone camera technology at Iberdrola’s 48-megawatt Groton Wind Farm in New Hampshire. Animated sequences illustrated the technology’s construction, operations, and renewable energy merits. Iberdrola used this interactive tool for community and educational outreach about wind energy.

"Drone camera technology is an exciting new tool that our production team uses to create powerful videos at a fraction of the cost of traditional aerial videography," said Mike Teixeira, vice president and creative director at Calypso. "For the Iberdrola video, we used drones to capture beautiful, sweeping images that tell the complex story of wind energy from a unique perspective.”

Pattern Energy is an independent power company with a portfolio of 11 wind power projects, including one project it has agreed to acquire, with a total owned interest of 1,472 MW, in the United States, Canada and Chile that use proven, best-in-class technology. Calypso writers and editors played a key role in the creation of the company's 2013 inaugural annual report. Working closely with content experts at Pattern Energy, Calypso crafted a letter to shareholders from Pattern’s CEO, and developed content for a summary of operations and financial performance for the report.
