Advanta IRA Hosts Webinar: Invest in Real Estate Without Paying Taxes by Using Self-Directed IRAs
Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) September 09, 2014 -- Many people are under the mistaken assumption that in order to use an IRA to acquire real estate, the funds must first be taken out of the IRA and incur taxes and penalties by doing so before using that money to invest. This is simply not the case. Advanta IRA’s webinar demonstrates how investors can use retirement plans to invest in real estate without having to pay income taxes.
“Using a self-directed IRA, individuals make the real estate investment underneath the IRA umbrella—acquiring the asset in the name of that IRA and using funds available in the account—thus avoiding any taxes or penalties, and preserving more capital to invest,” says Jack Callahan, managing partner of Advanta IRA Services in Florida. The webinar, offered at no cost, provides attendees the opportunity to learn the process in great detail.
Interactive instruction focuses primarily on using retirement funds (traditional, Roth, SEP IRAs and others) to make different types of real estate investments. In addition to reviewing some of the basic rules and prohibited transactions, Advanta IRA’s experts discuss how the process works and how investors of all levels can earn tax-free or tax-deferred returns on real estate investments.
Savvy investors use self-directed IRAs because they want to choose their own investments and because these plans allow different types of alternative investments, like real estate, not offered by typical brokerage houses or investment firms. Advanta IRA Services hosts weekly events such as this webinar to offer knowledge about self-directed accounts that investors need to know of when they choose this method of building retirement income.
Attendees learn about compliance within IRS standards and gain increased knowledge of the many alternative investments permissible in self-directed plans. “Our clients have used retirement funds to invest in raw land, rental projects, rehab properties, private mortgages, tax liens, options…and many more real estate related investments,” says Callahan. During the presentation, some of these transactions as well as the benefits and risks that come with self-direction are explained.
Investors of all levels who want to learn more about using IRAs to invest in real estate and related opportunities are encouraged to attend this webinar.
