Made in New York Jazz Competition Partners with Kawai USA for Second Year in a Row
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- The Made in New York Jazz Competition is excited to once again announce a partnership with Kawai America for the second year running. To the victors go the spoils, and those spoils will come in the form of prizes from a world-class musical instrument manufacturer. In addition to covering the airfare required for the winner to travel to New York City to perform in the competition’s closing gala celebration, Kawai will also be presenting the 1st Prize winner with a state of the art MP 11 stage piano, the finest piano experience in a professional stage piano.
According to festival organizer Mikhael Brovkin, “This is an amazing partnership between a well-established, worldwide brand and a young competition. It is a great honor to be in the company of OneRepublic, MUSE, Steven Curtis Chapman, Scars on 45, Joe Bongiorno and other great artists supported by this brand.”
This second season of the Made in New York Jazz Competition marks the second year Kawai and the competition organizers have made a commitment to give young artists opportunities to put their jazz talent on display. This year’s opportunities may exceed last year’s as the competition builds on the success of the last competition and gala conclusion.
The purpose of the Made in New York Jazz Competition is to find young talent hidden among the world’s jazz musicians, and to expose them to a worldwide jazz-loving audience. For the best talent in this pool, a trip to New York City lies in wait, where at the celebration gala the top young artists will have the opportunity to perform on stage with each other, as well as other notable jazz musicians.
In addition to prizes supplied by Kawai USA, a cash prize will be granted by the competition to the grand-prize winner. The price is $3,000 and it’s constantly growing because 10% of the registration fees go toward the prize. The more participants madeinnyjazz.com has the bigger the prize!
Contestants enter the Made in New York Jazz Competition by submitting a video of a performance that is no more than five minutes long. At least 80 percent of the video must be of the artist performing, and videos must be submitted in high quality.
The videos will be accepted by the contest committee, and later the committee puts the videos out to be judged by jazz fans all around the world, along with the competition’s committee and judges. Voting is done by thousands of users who register through the site at http://madeinnyjazz.com. During the competition, the site becomes a gathering ground for jazz musicians, producers and fans all over the world, as people take a look at what the best of the young talent has to offer. Like the fans, the musicians come from all over the world, and the competition offers a wonderful opportunity for musicians to be discovered, despite however remote their geographical location is.
The 2013 Made in New York Jazz Competition was capped off with a performance to a packed house at the Tribeca Performing Arts Complex in downtown Manhattan. As previously mentioned, Kawai USA was also a sponsor of the contest last year, and winners took home valuable prizes like the ES7 Digital Piano and an MP6 Professional Stage Piano provided by the instrument manufacturer.
