The post discusses two Georgetown University studies on the brain processes of language learners. A 2012 study showed how the immersion-learning method affects the brain versus the traditional grammar-translation method. A second study in 2014 asks what effects, if any, do traditional grammar-translation methods have on immersion learning. The results may surprise readers.

The Flashcard is written by chief contributor and editor Don Gibb.
