Aqua Salon Spa Joins “Wigs for Kids” in the Triangle
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- For over 30 years, Wigs for Kids has been providing Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have suffered from hair loss due to medical conditions. Many of these children have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues. Wigs for Kids has provided them with hair replacement solutions at no cost to children or their families.
The Wigs for Kids Ambassador Salon is critical to the growth of Wigs for Kids. Aqua Salon Spa of Raleigh, and Roszetta Pringle, Med-Hair Loss Specialist, are reaching out to the public for hair donations on behalf of Wigs for Kids. Everyone can join in for the cause, however the urgency is for kids to donate their hair to make another kid have a sense of normalcy again. Donors will receive a FREE haircut for your generous contribution. Your hair will be donated to a child in need through Wigs for Kids. Eligible donors must have at least 12 inches of hair. Roszetta Pringle’s passion for the medical hair loss community was inspired years ago by her father’s battle with brain cancer. It levied a cruel blow to his vanity and pride, sometimes overshadowing the urgency of the devastating illness. From the experience, Roszetta garnered deep compassion for the women she served. In 2010, Roszetta founded “Beauty from the Heart”, a community volunteer service. The goal is to diminish the emotional impact of hair loss due to medical conditions by enhancing inner and outer beauty, restoring self-esteem, and inspiring hope. Each year doctors and nurses from Duke Hospital have trusted and referred patients. Some of our patrons choose to donate money to finance the needed cranial hair prosthesis for the referred patient. On the day of service, hair and spa services are provided free of charge to the recipient. “It’s a rewarding day for all involved!”
The Aqua team launched “Hair Talk” in 2012. The mini-series of educational empowerment consists of dialogue on nutrition topics, life-style health changes, new innovative products, and tips on preventing hair loss & hair management. Professionals are invited to participate.
