RealCap Chicago, a real estate crowdfunding conference taking place September 18 at One Financial Place, announced their “Inspire Capital” contest. The top three winners will receive free sets of tickets to next week’s event. To enter the contest, participants must write at least 300 words on any of the following topics: Share a real estate financing success story, share a real estate financing horror story, share details on a real estate project you need funded now or soon or share why real estate crowdfunding is appealing to you.
Entries will be judged by Jorge Newbery, Founder and CEO of event sponsor American Homeowner Preservation. The contest’s first-place winner will received two tickets to RealCap Chicago (valued at $1,790), two tickets to the pre-event cocktail party on September 17 and a 30-minute consultation with the platform operator of their choice. Platform operators include: CrowdAlliance, GroundBreaker, Groundfloor, Patch of Land, PropFunds and ShareStates.
The second-place winner will receive two tickets to the event and a 30-minute consultation with a platform operator (excluding the one chosen by first-place winner). The third-place winner will receive two tickets to the event. Entrants must register to the Real Estate Crowdfunding Chicago group on MeetUp. All entries should be submitted to info(at)ahpinvest(dot)com by 11:59 PM CST on September 11, 2014.
RealCap Chicago is expected to draw real estate entrepreneurs including representatives from leading crowdfunding platforms, real estate developers and real estate investors. The single-day event will feature several workshops and panels covering topics such as How to Get Your Projects Funded Online, Marketing and Public Strategies to Make Sure Projects Are Funded and How to Create Your Own Crowdfunding Platform.
RealCap Chicago is presented by the Soho Loft Media Group and will be co-moderated by Soho Loft Founder and Chairman David Drake and Newbery. Newbery, who has over 20 years of real estate experience, encourages those with an interest in real estate to enter this contest. “This is a wonderful opportunity to learn firsthand about the evolution of real estate through crowdfunding,” said Newbery. “Leaders from some of the country’s top platforms will be shedding light on their successes and the current state and future of this nascent industry.”
