RSI Powers Mobile Productivity for Judges
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 -- Relational Semantics, Inc. (RSI®) is announcing the availability of Forecourt® Touch, the latest addition to RSI’s suite of efficiency-driving IT solutions for state courts and government agencies. Forecourt Touch is a web application that gives judges the ability to access their personalized hearing schedule, case information, and case documents on a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device.
Forecourt Touch integrates with a court’s case management system (CMS) to provide each judge a personalized view of his or her own case calendar and case docket information. RSI’s new web application also provides judges with mobile access to electronic case files stored in a court’s document management system (DMS), such as briefs, motions, and lower court records. Forecourt Touch detects the type of device that a judge is connecting with – for example an Android smartphone, an iOS tablet, or a desktop computer – and tailors the interface to the device so that the user experience is just like using a native application.
For judges, the availability of Forecourt Touch means that they can now directly access the information they need, as soon as they need it. This direct access to the live case management system also ensures that judges are working with the most current information. Forecourt Touch’s support for any type of desktop or mobile device gives judges the convenience of reviewing their case loads and supporting documents wherever and whenever they need to, whether in the office, in the courtroom, at home, or on travel.
By providing judges with anytime, anywhere personalized access to case information and documents, RSI’s new mobile web application also eases the burden on understaffed court clerk’s offices that typically spend a substantial amount of time producing case reports and assembling documents on behalf of judges.
“With Forecourt Touch we’re giving that information directly to the judge, through their personal mobile device,” says RSI President Bob Gorman. “It’s good for the clerk’s office, and it’s good for the judge.”
The versatile Forecourt Touch solution can integrate with RSI’s Forecourt Case Management System or with CMS solutions from other vendors. The solution also supports complete integration with a court’s electronic document management system, providing users with access not only to electronically filed documents but also documents that court staff have scanned or loaded into the system.
Along with enabling judges to directly access their own caseloads, Forecourt Touch allows for judges’ law clerks and administrative assistants to have their own access to the caseloads of the particular judge that they support. RSI also provides mobile web applications that will support the needs of court clerk’s offices and the needs of public users who desire mobile access to non-confidential court case information and documents.
